In addition to the main events at Civic Center and Fort Mason, Slow Food Nation 2008 featured programs that showcased the Bay Area’s foodshed and expanded the movement to build a healthy food and agriculture system.

    Dinners pairing outstanding local restaurants with non-profit organizations working in health, environmentalism, social justice and food access.

    Excursions to nearby agricultural regions to visit farms, ranches, fisheries and restaurants.

  • Slow Hikes

    Hikes through the green spaces and agriculture landscapes in and around the Bay Area

  • The Food Declaration

    A ceremony in City Hall to launch the Declaration for Healthy Food and Agriculture.

  • Youth Food Movement

    Students and young farmers, cooks, artisans and activists came together for an Eat-In and other rallies.

    Slow Food USA’s National Congress for chapter leaders.

    Point Reyes Books curated a series of book signings with renowned food authors.
