Tea: Taking Time to Slow Down

Fort Mason Center | Included with Taste Pavilions Ticket: $45 – 65 | Saturday, August 30; 11am – 3pm; 5pm – 9pm | Sunday, August 31; 11am – 3pm; 5pm – 9pm

Tea purveyors, experts and importers from across the country worked together to present the rich stories of tea by guiding handfuls of attendees through making heritage and famous teas from start to finish. Getting close to teas hand-processed with care in this way opens up tea’s 4ooo year-old history; it’s one of the original slow foods.

Teas were selected for and served at Slow Food Nation 2008 by these key people in the world of tea: James Norwood Pratt, David Lee Hoffman, Roy Fong of Imperial Tea Court, Silk Road Teas, Rishi Tea, Teance, Perennial Tea Room, Adagio Teas, Red Circle Tea, Numi Teas, Samovar Tea Lounge, The Urasenke Foundation, Modern Tea and more.
