Slow Food Nation & World Affairs Council Exhibition
The World Affairs Council was founded by community leaders in 1947 out of the interest generated by the founding of the United Nations in San Francisco in 1945. With over 11,000 members, the Council is the largest international affairs organization on the West Coast. Slow Food Nation is honored to partner with the Council for a revealing and provocative exhibition on food cultures around the globe. Please join the photojournalists for an opening reception featuring their photographs from Bhutan, Bosnia, Cuba, Japan, Mali, Mongolia, Turkey and the United States.

Hungry Planet: What the World Eats explores the intersection between food and politics and shows that diet and health depend not only on culture but globalization, poverty, and conflict. Peter Menzel and Faith D’Alusio joined 30 families in 24 countries to capture humankind’s oldest social activity: eating. Their photos are a commentary on how different countries, cultures and levels of society feed their families and the reasons for the similarities and differencesPanelists:
