Honey & Jam: From the Backyard

The origin of our food can be as close as our own backyards: bees and fruit trees are part of the sound and color of daily life, and they produce some of our most cherished and evocative foods. At the Honey & Jam Pavilion, beehive displays accompanied tastes of wildflower honeys gathered by local beekeepers and varietals from national apiaries. Jam-makers presented house-made preserves crafted from berries, stone fruit, citrus, wild foods, figs, sweet potatoes, red peppers and more, and taught visitors the history of jam-making and how to do it at home. Both honey and jam were available in pairings with bread, pastry and cheese.
