GNARLS BARKLEY TO HEADLINE SLOW FOOD ROCKS, TWO-DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL, DURING SLOW FOOD NATION

San Francisco, CA (June 4, 2008) — Festival Network, LLC, announces the initial lineup for Slow Food Rocks music festival to be held during Slow Food Nation, the largest celebration of American food in history. Slow Food Rocks will be at The Great Meadow at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, 2008. Grammy-winning Gnarls Barkley will headline the event on Saturday, August 30 with Ozomatli, New Pornographers, and Medeski Martin & Wood. On Sunday, August 31, G. Love & Special Sauce and The John Butler Trio will perform. Additional marquee artists and Sunday’s headliner will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets to Slow Food Rocks go on sale Tuesday, June 10 at 9 am EDT at slowfoodrocks.com or via phone at (877) 655-4TIX. Single-day and two-day passes will be available at the reserved and general admission levels, with a special “early bird” price effective until July 10. Slow Food Nation will bring together tens of thousands to experience an extraordinary range of activities highlighting the connection between plate and planet. All food and beverage vendors for the music festival will be sourced through Slow Food Nation, representing the best in good, clean and fair prepared foods, meats, produce, micro-brews and wine. To highlight issues concerning urban and global water use, Slow Food Nation is partnering with Food & Water Watch and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to develop accessible and visible water stations. All water will be free of charge. As Slow Food Nation strives to be a plastic-free event, we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.
